FAQ

Your questions answered.

Providing EICRs and electrical testing throughout Fareham, Southampton, Portsmouth, Park Gate, Warsash, Wickham, Whiteley, Waterlooville and the surrounding Hampshire areas.

How much does electrical testing cost?

Your quotation depends on the size of the property, the number of circuits and the type of inspection or investigation required. We provide a free, no obligation quote, so you understand the scope of the work and the cost before proceeding.

EICRs starting at £145; fault finding from £90.

How long does an electrical inspection take?

A typical EICR takes between five hours and a full day, depending on the size and complexity of the electrical installation and how easily the circuits and equipment can be accessed. Some testing will require the electricity to be switched off temporarily, and we’ll explain the expected timescale and any likely disruption before your appointment.

What is an EICR and what does it include?

An Electrical Installation Condition Report records the findings of an inspection and testing of your existing electrical installation. It identifies defects, deterioration and other issues, and states whether the installation is satisfactory for continued use within the scope of the inspection.

The EICR includes a visual inspection of all accessories and wiring, as well as full testing of all wiring and accessories. We will issue a full report upon completion. There will be minor power disruptions throughout the day.

What happens if testing identifies a problem?

We explain the findings, how urgently they need attention and the recommended next steps. Where remedial work is required, we can discuss the options and provide a separate quotation. Any immediate safety concerns will be brought to your attention promptly.
